Bringing Sim Racing to North Devon

What do you do when life isn’t going the way you planned? For us, the answer was simple—start a sim racing business, of course!

Now, we’re not professional racing drivers—if we were, we’d be out on the track. And we’re not tech inventors either—if we were, we’d be off building the next big thing. What we are is a team of passionate petrolheads from two generations of North Devon motor enthusiasts. And that passion is what sparked the creation of Race Mode.

Living in North Devon, we know all too well the challenges that come with pursuing motorsport. Distance, cost, and the lack of nearby racetracks can put a real brake on ambition. But sim racing has changed the game. What was once just a fun hobby has evolved into a serious training tool for professional drivers, and the technology behind it is better than ever—hyper-realistic track simulations, precise vehicle dynamics, and even full-motion rigs with haptic feedback.

That’s where Race Mode comes in. We’ve built this space to bring the thrill of motorsport closer to home. Our goal is to create a community where racers of all experience levels can come together, compete, hone their skills, and most importantly—have a blast.

What Have We Been Building?

Our journey started in a former wine store on a business park in Chivenor. Over the past few months, we’ve been transforming the space into the sim racing venue we envisioned—one designed for pure adrenaline, skill-building, and social connection.

The heart of Race Mode is our simulators, sourced from Axsim Racing, part of Cranfield Simulation. These guys are the real deal, with deep roots in aerospace engineering and world-leading simulation technology. Their systems are built to deliver an incredibly authentic racing experience—you’ll swear you’re actually on track.

Our simulators put you behind the wheel of some of the most iconic cars in motorsport, racing on legendary circuits from around the world. The software simulates everything from tire grip and suspension behavior to weather and night conditions, adjusting the setup in real-time to deliver a true-to-life driving experience. Whether you’re after a casual drive or a hardcore challenge, we’ve got cars and settings to suit every skill level.

With a fully networked setup, we’re also able to host time trial events and head-to-head races. It’s the perfect environment to test your mettle, push your limits, and maybe even earn a few bragging rights.

After months of hard work and collaboration with some incredible suppliers and contractors, Race Mode is ready to open its doors. We’re excited to welcome you to our new home of virtual motorsport right here in North Devon.
